Rev. Dr. John Ellis jr.

Rev. Dr. John Ellis Jr. is a native of Paris, TX and born to the late John Ellis Sr. and Rosetta Ellis.  From September 1996 to December 2015, He served as an Associate Minister at MT. Zion Baptist Church in Triangle, VA under pastoral leadership of Rev. Dr. Alfred Jones Jr.  At MT. Zion, He served in the Praise & Worship Ministry, Christian Education Ministry, Men’s Fellowship Ministry, Spiritual Advisor to various ministries and also served for 10 years with his wife as Facilitators of the Marriage Ministry.   

 

He is the proud Husband of Minister Sonia Lynette Ellis and Father of their beautiful daughter, Samautra.  Dr. Ellis is the Founding Pastor of Abundant Life Outreach Ministries  which strives to Empower, Equip and Elevate  the Body of Christ by Preaching SALVATION, DELIVERANCE, HEALING & RESTORATION UNTO JESUS CHRIST. Abundant Life Ministries has partnered with Spread The Word Ministries International in Nigeria South Africa in Equipping and Edifying Pastors and Disciples with various resources in fulfilling the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19-20.  Dr. Ellis is also a board member of Healing and Restoration Ministries Inc. whose purpose is to support and encourage wounded clergical and church leaders as they seek to restore their physical, emotional and spiritual health.  He also works with various ministries and organizations in the Washington DC Metropolitan area.

 

Dr. Ellis accepted the call from God into the Gospel Ministry on January 9th 1997 and was Licensed on June 7TH 1997. He received his Ministerial Ordination on December 10, 2011.  He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies, a Master’s of Ministry in Pastoral Theology and a Doctorate of Ministry from Andersonville Theological Seminary. 

 

Dr. Ellis is an innovative, energetic and committed leader dedicated to fulfilling the calling God placed upon his life.

                                               

 His Prayer is that as the WORD of God is proclaimed, mankind will realize that "NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST THEM SHALL PROSPER; AND THERE IS NOW NO CONDEMNATION TO THOSE WHO ARE IN CHRIST JESUS." because "JESUS CAME THAT THEY MAY NOT BE DESTROYED, BUT THAT THEY MIGHT HAVE "LIFE" AND HAVE IT MORE ABUNDANTLY".

Min. Sonia L. Ellis

Minister Sonia Lynette Ellis is a native of Paris TX.  She is the blessed and proud wife of Rev. Dr. John Ellis Jr. and mother of their beautiful daughter, Samautra.  She acknowledged and accepted God’s call to the Gospel Ministry in September 2003 and was Licensed on September 24, 2005.

 

Minister Ellis served from 2005-2015 as an associate minister at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Triangle, VA  under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Alfred Jones Jr.  During this time, Min. Ellis served in various capacities such as: Praise Team, Women’s Choir, Vice-President of Women’s Ministry, Spiritual Advisor to Young Women’s Ministry & Co- Facilitator with her husband of the Marriage Ministry for 10 yrs.  Min. Ellis has served many churches and organizations throughout the Washington DC area as keynote speaker at Women’s Retreats, Conferences and workshops.  Currently, she is the Vice-Pres. of Abundant Life Outreach Ministries Inc. where she strives to Empower, Equip and Draw the Heart of Man to God by Preaching SALVATION, DELIVERANCE, HEALING & RESTORATION UNTO JESUS CHRIST . 

 

Min. Ellis received her Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies in May 2005 and Master’s of Christian Counseling in May 2015 from Andersonville Theological Seminary.  Min. Ellis is a Licensed and Board Certified Christian Counselor with the National Christian Counselors Association as well as a member of the Sarasota Academy of Christian Counseling.

 

One of Minister Ellis’ favorite scriptures is II Corinthians 5:17;

 “Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new”.   She realizes that being a new creature in Christ calls us to destroy our will and our ways while submitting to the ways of God; thus allowing us to be effective disciples as we witness to the masses in word and deed and worship God in spirit and in truth
